Childhood: Wellbeing could be better, say UK families

Parents feel that the UK is not 'child-friendly' compared with Mediterranean countries and blame pressures on family life for undermining a good childhood, according to a new report.
The findings are revealed in research carried out by marketing agency Counterpoint for the DCSF. The Government said it wanted to understand what parents and children and young people mean when they talk about 'well-being', 'happiness' and 'a good childhood'. Group interviews were held with parents and children in 14 areas of England last August.
