Cases of measles rise

Cases of measles in England and Wales last year rose by more than 30 per cent to the highest level since records began in 1995. The Health Protection Agency recorded 971 cases of measles in 2007, compared with 740 in 2006. Most were among children under age 15, with 90 cases reported in children under a year old and 312 in one- to four-year-olds.
