Nursery chains: Nursery closing amid BBC allegations

A Cambridgeshire nursery where a baby died after choking on a piece of apple is to close this Friday, following revelations that a TV reporter worked undercover at the nursery and exposed serious safety breaches.

The reporter, from the BBC's 'Whistleblower' documentary series, was able to start work in November at the Just Learning nursery in Cambourne, where ten-month-old Georgia Hollick died in April 2006 (news, 27 April 2006), without references being taken and without undergoing a Criminal Records Bureau check.
