Nurseries to get new outdoor spaces

Ten nurseries are to benefit from new outdoor play areas as part of an £800,000 education programme after proposals were approved by Aberdeenshire council last week.

Funding for the play areas has come from the Scottish Government, which has provided £815,000 to enhance and support early years provision. The Scottish Government has also initiated an outdoor learning development programme called Outdoor Connections, which aims to develop and distribute resources to improve the quality of outdoor learning across Scotland and make connections between children's outdoor and indoor learning experiences.
