Inspection is overturned after nursery complains

A nursery owner has succeeded in the rare achievement of having an Ofsted inspection overturned and the subsequent report declared 'null and void'.

Last December Ray Van Spall, owner of Lilliput Lodge nursery in Hull, wrote to Ofsted to complain about the way an inspection had been carried out. Ofsted said that in a sample of 9,757 reports, only six were declared null and void.
