The Department for Children, Schools and Families has released a consultation.

'Future Approach to Fees and Subsidies', which outlines plans to increase the registration fees for childminders in England joining the Ofsted registers by over 400 per cent over the next three years. The National Childminding Association is very concerned about the potential impact of these increases. At a time of considerable policy change, they will come as a shock to registered childminders, many of whom earn less than £7,000 per year, and will potentially undermine the sustainability of their business. NCMA wholeheartedly supports the Government's commitment to making childcare available, affordable and of high quality. However...
