Recruitment: Nannies alerted to cash scam

An internet e-mail scam that attempts to extort money from nannies searching for jobs online has been uncovered by a Nursery World reader.
Nanny Emma Entwistle contacted Nursery World after receiving an e-mail that purported to be from a man wanting to offer her a job caring for his two-year-old son. Emma had been looking for a job and carried out searches on several recruitment websites. It is believed that fraudsters are searching nanny and au pair recruitment sites for personal details and contacting prospective nannies to try to obtain personal cheques from them.
