Social mobility to get a push

Former Cabinet minister David Blunkett was due to unveil plans to generate greater social mobility and debate about welfare reform on Tuesday, as Nursery World went to press.
The move follows Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg's announcement last week that he was setting up an independent Commission on Social Mobility, to be chaired by Barnado's chief executive, Martin Narey, who is also the chair of the End Child Poverty Coalition.
