Childcare 'provides balance'

Childcare and out-of-school services are key to improving the work/life balance of Britain's working parents, according to a new report.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) said that establishing the right work/life balance policies will reduce child poverty, promote child development and stem the fall in birth rates. The OECD has published a comparison of the 30 OECD countries' policies on balancing work and family life. In many countries, female employment is seen as key to maintaining economic growth.
