Scotland: Six-point rating introduced for all providers

Childcare providers in Scotland will be rated from one to six under a new grading system to be introduced by the Care Commission next April.
The national regulator is introducing the system for every care service in the country. Nurseries, playgroups and childminders will all be awarded marks in three to five different areas, presented in regular at-a-glance report cards and backed up by detailed reports. The separate areas are care and support or information, environment, staffing, and management/leadership.
