Vulnerable families will be given equipment and advice to keep their children safe in the home over the next three years in an £18m Government scheme.
Details of the Home Safety Equipment scheme are to be announced in the Children's Plan, due in the next few weeks. It will be targeted at deprived families who do not have access to local equipment schemes.
Children's secretary Ed Balls said, 'Vulnerable families often struggle to buy stairgates, socket covers or fireguards, and during our consultation for the Children's Plan we identified that more help was needed for these families to prevent accidental injuries at home.'
