Babies spot the difference

Babies as young as six months can spot the difference between 'nice' and 'nasty' characters, according to research published in the journal Nature last week.

Researchers from Yale University in the United States showed babies aged six months and ten months a puppet show in which a wooden toy was seen trying to climb a hill and was either helped or hindered by another character. The babies showed that they preferred the helpful toys.
