Child Health: Schools to benefit from allergy treatment training

An allergy training programme aimed at improving the quality of life of severely allergic school children has been launched by the Anaphylaxis Campaign.
Called AllergyWise, the three-year, UK-wide programme will equip school nurses with the skills and resources to manage severe allergy and anaphylaxis. It will train 2,160 school nurses and reach 43,200 schools. Sue Clarke, the programme's senior trainer, said, 'We expect this project to result in a reduction in risk of fatal allergic reactions and fewer overall allergic reactions occurring in the school environment.'
