Inspections: Settings rise in Ofsted ranks

The proportion of childcare settings judged by Ofsted as 'outstanding' or 'good' has risen by 6 per cent since last year.
Ofsted's annual report says that overall, 58 per cent of settings were found to offer good or outstanding care and 4 per cent found inadequate. More than 80 per cent of inadequate providers managed to rise to satisfactory or better, following their re-inspection. The annual report listed all the outstanding providers in England - 268 childcare settings and 511 childminders (see list).
