Nurseries told of changes in inspections

A preview of the new inspection framework for Early Years and Childcare Services was given to delegates at the annual general meeting of Scotland's Association of Quality Nurseries in Aberdeen, ahead of its implementation next April.
Bryan Livingstone, development manager for children's services at the Care Commission, gave a presentation outlining the changes. The conference also heard that the Scottish Social Services Council will be launching a new degree-level qualification on 31 October, which will be required for managers and lead practitioners of early years and childcare services by 2011 (News, 17 August 2006).
