Pre-schools staying put

A campaign by staff and parents has won a temporary reprieve for two pre-schools in Arundel, West Sussex, who feared they would have to close after being given notice to leave their rented premises.
Butterflies pre-school, which caters for 50 children and has a waiting list for places, was told by West Sussex Council in September to vacate its premises by Christmas, to make way for a pupil referral unit for teenagers who cannot be placed in mainstream schools.
