In Brief: ABC Learning Centres announces record profits

The Australian-based childcare giant ABC Learning Centres, which recently acquired Leapfrog nurseries in the UK (News, 23 August) and is the parent company of Busy Bees, has announced record profits of $143.1m Australian dollars, a rise of 76 per cent on the previous year. ABC is the largest provider of childcare in Australia and New Zealand and the second largest childcare provider in the United States.
