Disability linked to poverty

The specific problems faced by families with disabled children are failing to be addressed by the Government in its bid to end child poverty, say campaigners in a new report.

The Every Disabled Child Matters Campaign surveyed more than 1,800 families with disabled children, and found 93 per cent reporting that they faced financial difficulties. One in five families said they had to cut back on buying food as a result of the cost of bringing up their disabled child.
