Busy Bees deal 'landmark'

The acquisition of 88 Leapfrog nurseries by Busy Bees and its parent company, ABC Learning centres, marks a 'significant landmark' on the road to a nationally recognised daycare brand, a leading childcare economist said last week.

Philip Blackburn, an economist at Laing and Buisson, welcomed the £31.2m purchase from Nord Anglia and said, 'I think it's quite exciting. Finally we have a company, a large global organisation, that is pretty ambitious and has got the money and inclination to become the leading player in the UK market.'
