Politicians picnic to end poverty

Nursery children picnicked with two cabinet leaders last week to highlight the role of childcare in combating child poverty.
The Campaign to End Child Poverty teamed up with the Daycare Trust to bring the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, Ed Balls, and Work and Pensions Secretary Peter Hain to a picnic in St James Park, London. The Trust was celebrating its 21st anniversary and the Campaign, made up of over 80 charities and organisations, was marking its publication of Employment and Childcare, the first of four key briefings papers.
