Nursery chains: Nursery found 'unhygienic'

A nursery operated by one of the largest private providers is facing enforcement action by Ofsted after a damning inspection found it failed to safeguard children's welfare.

The quality and standards of care at Leapfrog Day Nursery in Reigate, Surrey, were rated inadequate following the inspection in May. Inspectors found the nursery flouted hygiene regulations, with some staff handling food without checking if their hands were clean. The report said, 'Nursery rooms lack appropriate ventilation.
