New poverty rate revealed

Nearly 1.3 million children in the UK are living in severe poverty, according to new figures from Save the Children.
The charity found that one in ten children living in families with two parents and one child have an average income of £7,000, compared with the national average of £19,000. This equates to having £19 a day for bills, food, clothes, washing, transport and health needs, as well as activities for children and other essentials.
