Check the staff policies in local authorities

As a nursery nurse I am very aware of the importance of safety for young children and also how important it is for parents' sense of security that staff working with their children are fully checked and declared 'fit' to work in day nurseries. Recently I moved from Scotland to Bristol and immediately began looking for work in nurseries. I attended interviews taking along the usual documents - CV, references and my vetting form, for which references, medical and police checks had been taken up.
