Educational work in museums and galleries in England received a £1m boost last week from the Government. Schools minister Catherine Ashton said, 'There is nothing like a child being able to see or touch a piece of Roman mosaic to help them understand history and give them a real taste for learning. I want to open up new avenues of "learning through culture".'
