Case study: a home from home

Walking through the door of the 'home' rooms where babies and toddlers play in St Roch's Childcare Service in Glasgow is like walking into a warm oasis of love, trust and security. Every aspect of the care of these very young children is considered each time they come 'home'. As far as possible the staff become the 'family' and create as close a bond between adult and child as is appropriate. 'It is really important to us that parents feel their children are in a safe and stimulating place,' says Jim Gallagher, the depute of the project.
