People in Britain have mixed feelings about disabled children attending mainstream schools, a survey by the Disability Rights Commission has found. Although nearly two-thirds of the people surveyed were in favour of integration, less than a third of those were happy to see a child with a learning difficulty such as Down's Syndrome or mental health problems such as depression being in the classroom. Twelve per cent of those surveyed thought disabled children should only be taught in special schools.
