First NVQ 4 childcarers praised

(Photograph) - Three childcare workers from Northern Ireland have become the first in the UK to achieve the new NVQ Level 4 in early years care and education. Winnie Kelly from Coalisland, Mary O'Reilly from Omagh and Kathleen O'Kane from Londonderry (left to right) received their certificates from employment and learning minister Dr Sean Farren at a special awards ceremony at Belfast City Hall last week. He described their achievement as a 'new milestone' and said they had 'demonstrated a commitment to quality in early years education and childcare. They should take great pride in their achievement.'
