Staff turnover raises concerns in sector

Just under three in ten former childcare students are not working in the sector 15 months after completing their NVQ level 3 course, the Thomas Coram Research Unit has found. The research, carried out by a team including Professor Peter Moss and Dr Claire Cameron for the Department for Education and Skills, found that nearly three-quarters of students (72 per cent) were still working either in childcare or a related field 15 months after completing their course.
