The end of this month is the deadline for submitting views to Northern Ireland's consultation on the smacking of children.The consultation recognises that changing the law will not be sufficient in itself to protect children or support parents and families, so has asked what other forms of support could best help parents. It is also set in the wider context of the consultation on a children's commissioner and a children's strategy in Northern Ireland. Consultation papers can be obtained by calling 028 9054 2900 or on www.olrni.gov.uk.
