Abused allowance

While the Government gives the childcare tax credit directly to parents to give them freedom of choice about childcare, it is sad that some parents are mishandling it. The allowance is very generous and I only wish it had been in place when I was a single parent with two young children. As a nursery nurse I can see how the credit is being abused. I fear that once again the behaviour of a few will reflect badly on all single parents as scroungers and unworthy.
