Guidance on how to screen staff to work in residential childcare is now available on the Scottish Executive website, www.scotland.gov.uk. The guidance, 'Safer recruitment and selection for staff working in childcare', was developed by the Scottish Recruitment and Selection Consortium and covers a range of roles within social work with children, including family centre workers. The guidance covers the whole recruitment process from job descriptions and person specifications to making identity and criminal records checks.
