The Child Poverty Action Group has called for the Government to provide asylum- seeker mothers with free milk tokens. The charity believes babies are being put at risk of HIV infection because the mothers who are HIV-positive cannot afford to buy formula milk and are forced to breastfeed their babies, increasing the risk of passing on HIV. Mothers receiving income support who are not asylum seekers are entitled to milk tokens for children under the age of five.
