Early intervention for children with behavioural problems at primary school is very important and both primary schools and parents have a positive part to play in helping them, according to a Government report. The report, Intervening Early, produced by the Coram Family for the Department for Education and Skills, gives a 'snapshot' of ways primary schools can help children who struggle at school. It emphasised how appropriate intervention can help children 'to develop the social and emotional competence that will help them to understand the rules that govern the relationships between people'.
