Parents of children with special needs may have experienced many different kinds of rejection. It is important to be welcoming. 'It is good practice to gather as much information as possible about any child before she or he starts,' says Shubi Raymond. 'The principle is the same for a child with a special needs, except that you will be getting information from other professionals as well as from the parents.'
