Meningitis alert follows death

* A meningitis risk at a nursery in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, is being investigated after a two-year-old boy who attended it died on Sunday 17 August. A second child from the nursery is seriously ill in hospital. Doctors said there is a small increased risk of other children from the Penny Cottage Nursery contracting the disease. As a precautionary measure the local Health Protection Agency (HPA) provided antibiotics last week to all children and staff who attended the nursery between Monday 11 August and Friday 15 August.
