Guidance for childcare inspectors
Nursery World,
28 August 2003
Guidance for childcare inspectors to help them carry out inspections of daycare and childminding and make judgements about whether provision is good, satisfactory or unsatisfactory under its new system introduced in April, was published earlier this month by Ofsted. The guidance explains that for provision to qualify as good, all actions raised at the previous inspection should have been dealt with, no actions should be needed to ensure that each standard is met and there should be significant strengths with few areas for improvement. Inspecting quality: supplementary guidance for childcare inspectors is available on www.ofsted.gov.uk, HMI no 1706, under Publications.
