Dogs can be a very calming influence in the classroom
Nursery World,

(Photograph) - Teacher Wendy Dyble gets a helping paw from Fern at a Primary 1 class at Scalloway Junior High School in Shetland. Ms Dyble says, 'Dogs can be a very calming influence in the classroom' - they can be taught to round up children, lick up spilt milk and even 'sniff out' accidents in class. Her idea was dismissed as eccentric when she put it to a Professional Association of Teachers conference four years ago, but a secondary school in Sheffield is now employing a Cavalier King Charles spaniel.
