More nurseries closed by strike

Glasgow City Council decided to close 27 of its nursery schools in the south-west of the city this week as public sector nursery nurses continued their industrial action. The council asked parents to make alternative arrangements for their children as nursery nurses belonging to public sector union Unison went on strike in their long-running campaign for better pay and career development. The local authority closed 96 of its pre-five establishments last week because of strikes.
