Only one in every four women in Northern Ireland is still breastfeeding their baby at six weeks, according to a report by the chief medical officer, Dr Henrietta Campbell. The report, Your health matters, said Northern Ireland's breastfeeding rate of 26 per cent was considerably less than that in England and Wales at 43 per cent and Scotland at 40 per cent. Dr Campbell also warned that obesity in children was increasing 'at an alarming rate'.
