Complaints and accusations against nursery staff require careful handling by the manager. Christine Betts considers the possibilities Ofsted's Early Years Inspectorate receives more than 1,000 complaints a year involving some kind of child protection issue. Some of these will be misunderstandings, minor upsets or even malicious and unfounded accusations. But as a daycare provider, how will you cope if a member of your staff is accused of abusing a child?
