Work has started at Thorney Close Sure Start in Sunderland to extend the existing baby room facility. The new room will provide an extra 12 places for babies between the ages of three months and two years, bringing the total number of places for under-twos to 21. There will also be a sensory area to promote child development and provide a calm and relaxing environment. Thorney Close Sure Start currently offers 30 daycare places for children up to five years old..
