Media stories last month of a record number of nannies being in work and earning salaries as high as £30,000 were rubbished by the Professional Association of Nursery Nurses. PANN professional officer Tricia Pritchard said, 'Reports suggesting that nannies are living the high life risk frightening parents off employing a nanny. Many parents will now have the false impression that nannies are out of their financial reach and the nanny employment market could be damaged.' The reports were put about as part of a PR campaign for a nanny-share website service.
