The Northern Ireland Childminding Association has complained about its exclusion from consultation on the Play Policy for Northern Ireland. The NICMA also called for a committed training programme to be established and questioned the lack of references to under-threes. The province currently has 4,000 registered childminders providing more than 20,000 childcare places.
