Councils can go online to steer centres

The children's centre programme could be given a boost by a new range of online materials providing practical advice and guidance for local authorities designed by the Together for Children consortium (TfC). The consortium is a partnership of children's services organisations including Serco, 4Children and ContinYou, which was awarded the children's centre contract until September 2008 to support local authorities in the planning and delivery of children's centres (News, 5 October 2006).
