Voluntary organisation Craigmillar Childcare Services has been saved from liquidation following a dramatic U-turn by Edinburgh City Council. Over 200 nursery and out-of-school places and 28 jobs were at risk when the council declared it had found CCS to be insolvent and withdrew funding last month (News, 25 January). The council will now provide £43,000 in funds if CCS can produce a business plan by the end of the month.
