Don't pay for police checks, carers told

Daycare providers in England and Wales have been told they are not to pay any money to the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) to register with it. The National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) has instructed its members to ignore any correspondence sent by the CRB asking them to pay a £300 one-off registration fee and £12 per member of staff to check them against its Disclosure service.
