NVQs to include working with refugee children

The Early Years National Training Organisation hopes to devise national occupational standards for carers working with children of asylum seekers and refugees to be included among the standards for early education and childcare. EYNTO deputy director Sue Owen said it had begun to work on the standards in response to demand from the sector. 'People have found themselves being faced by large numbers of very disorientated children over the last two years,' she said.
