Early years professionals

Early years professionals shared their views and ideas for good practice at the conference 'You Are The Strongest Link', organised by North Lanarkshire council. Delegates heard about various Sure Start projects and Linda Kinney, head of early childhood, play and out of school care at Stirling Council, stressed that Sure Start programmes should be made universal. She said, 'We have to be careful about labelling the vulnerable. We should see all people as capable and having the possibility to do well. The provision should be for all children and their needs, not about being naive about poverty.'
