Save our deaf children

(Photograph) - Several hundred deaf people, parents of deaf children and their supporters made sure they were heard as well as seen at the House of Commons when they protested last week over the state of deaf children's education in Britain. The mass lobby, organised by the Federation of Deaf People, called for the support of MPs to influence changes in national and local policies and practices. It said many deaf children leave school with the reading age of a seven-to nine-year-old, and poor English skills and qualifications.
