The early years sector is being reassured that 'a great deal of work' is being done to support NVQ assessors when the new standards come into force on 1 November. A joint statement is made by the National Day Nurseries Association, together with the Children's Workforce Development Council, Edexcel and the Learning and Skills Council, in a letter to Nursery World (see p35) which was was prompted by the story, 'Crisis to worsen for NVQ assessment', which appeared in Nursery World on 2 June.
